about this story

It was such a horrible day, the rain was pouring and the sky was grey and bleak. Gemma huddled on her couch under her fluffy blanket trying to keep warm when she started day dreaming of a better place. Some where warm with a sandy yellow beach, blue skies and palm trees, the perfect place. Reality struck when she felt a warm rough tongue lick her chin and up over her nose. Wet saliva pooled in her nostrils and then started running back down her face. "Yuck Teddy, get off" as Gemma pushed him away. Must be time for his walk Gemma thought, as she reluctantly peeled off the warm blanket and searched for her slippers. She wasn't keen to step out in this weather but Teddy would just be a pain if she didn't. Gemma started to get her wet weather gear on and watched Teddy dancing at the door. The walk turned out to be a lot more pleasant than Gemma first thought, as the rain stopped and the sun managed to filter some of it warmth through the clouds. Every day was the same as Teddy pulled at the leash, they walked through the park, past the big white house where Emma always stopped to pick a flower through the fence, and back home passed the corner shop. Sometimes they would bump into a friend or met another dog. But not this day. While they were walking through the park Gemma found a small brown paper bag full of strange looking nuts or could they be seeds. Umm I wonder what I could do with these pondered Gemma. With no garden of her own she could not plant them. It was then she had a thought. "Yes Teddy" he was getting impatient so the walk had to continue. However today was going to be just little different. Instead of stopping at the big white house to pick a flower, Gemma stood and threw her collection of strange looking seeds into the lush garden. She hoped one day she would discover what they were. "Ok Teddy" lets go home.
