about this story

I am going to time myself for this story. i can see all five and i am allowing myself five minutes.
A man worked in a factory. He was small, with dark curly hair, and he did not like his job. His name was Barry and he could not leave his job because he needed to make money to feed his wife and two children, one of whom was allergic to cigarettes and sometimes got asthma because they lived in a polluted city. Each day on his way home his bus passed a place that was rather pretty and where people sometimes went fishing. Each day the bus passed there and he looked longingly out of the window. One day, on impulse, he rang the bell and got off the bus. Just as he reached the shore, a large black dog ran out of the water, carrying something in his jawa. It was a piece of paper advertising a fisihing contest on the other side of the isalnd where Barry lived. It seemed too much of a coincidence for Barry to ignore. He went the very next day and standing out amongst the pounding surf, using a rod borrowed from his neightbour, Barry caught the prizewinning fish and won $2,500 dollars! he took his astmatic daughter and his son and his wife on a long road trip to the country side and took two weeks leave from his boring job. While he was there, he found a new job as a guide on a tourist boat and he never went back to his boring job in the smelly city. ( took me eight minutes! not bad)

I went to the last class for the storytelling improv on monday and he gave us an acronym for a good story. It was CLEAR... C stood for character, L for logical progression E was for circle of expectation A was for association ( connections between people and between people and places etc) and for re-incorportaion, while R is for Ride the curve...if it's crazy, get crazier... if it's sad get sadder, etc....
