about this story

A Five Photo retelling of the beginning of The Hours. We first see Clarissa walking the streets of New York, alert to everything around her. Like the first photo, she has a close and clear perspective of her world. The love that Clarissa has for the small things is reflected in the second photo. She's sensitive to details, to a budding plant. This picture also reflects what we know of the characters, they are budding. We're watching them grow into people that seem real. The third photo reflects all three women quite well, as it feels very introspective. They all do a lot of thinking and pondering, both about themselves and others. I like to think of the next photo as a sunrise, as it fits my purposes better. When we meet each of the three women it is morning, they're all starting their days in some form or another. Finally, the photo of the hand on the doorknob is representative of the potential these characters have. They are all getting ready to do something, to take action. To go somewhere, both literally and figuratively.
