about this story

As I stood gazing at my cousin's portrait I was reminded of the fun times we had together. The last time I was with him, we were sitting petrified at the top of the Ferris Wheel. We could see the entire city from where we sat. There we talked about our dreams and hopes for the future. He told me that he wanted to open up his own bakery and make the finest bread in all of Paris.

I never expected that his life would end. He was too young.

I packed his painting in the last box to load onto the moving truck and as the gate closed behind us tears fell down my cheeks.
