about this story

I walk alone on this lonely road. Loneliness, why must you attach to me like a prisoner attached to his lock and chain constantly being nagged by the uncomfortable metal constraining him. Why must loneliness creep up on desperate times like now. As I look off to my right I see a man waiting for his laundry sitting alone. That is a great sign, I'm not the only one experiencing the agonizing pain of thinking but not speaking. It's not that I don't like to speak but that I can't think when I speak. Brain, why must you die at the most desperate times. I reach in my pocket and pull out my cellular device. The warmth from the bright screen affects both natures, the mind and the body. It keeps me company as I rapidly touch the smooth surface endlessly until its death. Time to go home. I find the nearest bus stop and wait. Time, why must you decline at a time like this. A time where the brain talks and the body becomes still. As I enter the bus I hear laughter. Why can't I laugh? Maybe my brain is broke. Maybe my brain isolates itself, becoming completely independent on its thoughts. I walk off the bus and stare in the direction of home. I look the other way and see a porthole. I walk towards the porthole and find that it's open. I look in and notice something odd about this circle breaking the pattern of the cobblestone street. It's a very deep hole. So deep you could die if you fall into it. One step is all that it takes. I walk away slightly happy. I didn't take that one step.
