Free Verse

Today is my birthday
But we haven't really done much
Couple people said happy birthday not really
We are just walking downtown but I'm not impressed
Hoping and praying something better is to come
When we get back to our house
I was expecting something great
Something better than what the day had become
Nope, just my dog waiting for me to take him on a walk
Before I could get out the door
My mom asked me stop by the cake shop to put up whatever I wanted
After me and my dog were done walking we come to the cake shop
Only to find a great surprise there....
