about this story

The mysterious man waltzed into the Tanger Bar and sat down in a booth. "Oh what a world we live in," he exclaimed to passing waiters.
A rumbling shook the entire bar, making the man look up from his clasped hands. The man peered out the window and observed dangerous, sinister clouds rolling towards him. “Ah.. death, trying to take me again aren’t you,” he whispered to himself.
Vivid orange leaves draw the man’s attention away from the clouds. “Leaves! Leave me be! Why can’t I fly hopelessly around like you tend to do,” screams the man while slamming his hands down on the table.
Disturbed by recent memories, the man gets up to clear his head and walks past a woman eagerly playing a slot machine. The slot machine displays the jackpot numbers, triple sevens. He mutters under his breath when he passes the woman, “Luck, you are fair to her but not to me?”
The man has had enough for the day. He briskly walks back to his home, an abandoned warehouse, that he spent thousands of years living in. “Life, aren’t you so short,” he sarcastically mutters as he walks into the entrance.
