about this story

As I sit in class my first year of college, I realize how far I have come. At a very young age, I lost my father and my world turned upside down. At times I can't even concentrate because my mind wants to go back to the most difficult time in my life. When things become so overwhelming, my favorite place to release some stress, is a good walk on the beach. Just the sound of the waves relaxes my mind. While i'm leaving the beach riding in my car, as the sun begins to go down I realize how beautiful and precious life is. Just when I thought my life was heading for a brick wall, I began to think about how blessed I am for just being alive. Their is always someone out there that is experiencing more difficult times than I am. One day it hit me the more I keep my feelings locked inside, the more i'm going to feel alone and isolated. I began to get involved with other groups, of people who have experienced the loss of loved ones. I find myself speaking out more about what I was feeling. When you have experience a great loss in your life it's best to get help, to deal with your everyday pain.
