On a cozy Fall day I arrived at the beautiful Alton Baker Park in Eugene, Oregon. When I was crossing the road to pay for the parking, I noticed a familiar blond girl feeding ducks with tiny bread crumbs just on the other side of the road. It was my Russian friend, Lena, who worked at the law firm just across the sushi restaurant in downtown Eugene. One of the best things that happened in Lena's life was when she won a lottery at one of the conferences she went when she was a grad student. She bought three cute kittens for these money, and named them A, B and C.
