about this story

The first picture is older to show the time period. The writting on the brick is for Liesel learning to read, writting on the walls of her basement. The handprints appear small which reveals the age of Liesel. The broken brick wall shows differing opinions of the Germans during this time period. The peaches resemble the fruits the children in the story had stolen.
