about this story
An old battered house looms over a calm sea,
ancient compared to the buildings,
of my neighbors and me,
strange figures perch on shadowy ledges,
watching over gloomy hedges,
dead leaves scatter the ground,
lost voices whisper who's owners will never be found,
the frogs crooked and the snakes hiss,
ghouls waiting to grab an unsuspecting wrist,
lost souls patrol the halls,
there dark shadows appear on the walls.
