A flea named Flo lived on the spine of a cactus. But her life was incomplete—she wanted to see the world. A cactus does not see the world very much. So she sprang off the spine and kept springing until she spied a blob. The blob was a bunch of blackberries, and fruit flies were swarming them. The flies could see the world because they had wings, but they did not want to see the world. "Why go anywhere else when all we could ever want is right here?" they asked her. But Flo did not like fruit, and besides, fruit doesn't see the world very much either. So she jumped out of the juice until she joined a blue blob. The blob was a dog, but it did not answer when Flo asked if he would like to see the world. In fact, it did not move at all. Flo figured it did not want to see the world if it could not move even an inch. So she hopped and hopped and hopped until she came to a wall. "Aha!" she thought. "Perhaps I will be able to see the world from the top of the wall!" But no matter how high she tried to jump, she could not get to the top. Flo was very sad; she would never be able to see the world. But then, a cat came along. "Where are you going?" asked Flo. "I'm going to sit in the window and watch the world go by," the cat replied. "May I come with you?" Flo begged. The cat agreed, and she climbed onto his back. The cat was big enough to jump onto the windowsill, and he laid down in the sun. Then Flo bit him and sucked all his blood out, and she died in a few days because flees don't live that long. And the cat was itchy. The end.
