It was a sunny June morning in Iowa. I woke up at 5 am, well rested but something was different about today. I dressed and went to the window. I could see several periwinkle Irises had bloomed overnight. I went to the barn and let the bunnies out of their cage so they could graze and hop free. Back inside I scrambled some eggs and was just starting to brew coffee when the mechanic called. My Restored 1970 Mustang was ready at the shop. I hung up the phone, turned off the stove and ran to the bedroom. I packed one suitcase in about 3 minutes. 7 minutes later my taxi had arrived. I drove several hours that day. All the way until I reached the city. I parked and found a small boutique hotel. People were out strolling, casually walking around in tailored suites and fitted dresses. From my hotel window I saw the city library and a French restaurant . I changed into a DVF wrap dress and flats, walked across the street and ordered a glass of wine at the restaurant patio. That's when I saw him.
