about this story

During this past month, I've heard many stories about the lack of appreciation we have in both AVID and my confirmation class. These stories caused me to stop a lot this month and just admire my surroundings. I never realized how cool reflections look on the windows of stores and shops. When I walk past these stores/shops, I sort of noticed some pretty cool walls. If not, I always see some sort of plant growing around or on the walls. I used to complain about how "weird" it looked, but I think they're really pretty now. Because there are so many monumental architectures or statues around our area, I never really stopped and stared. I recently went on a retreat and really appreciated how pretty everything was. The details on the architecture used to always go unnoticed, but lately I've been noticing many details and really seem to appreciate everything more. I always knew I noticed more details than other people, even small things like a hole in a fence. Other things I tend to always notice now are like color contrasts in almost anything like a super market. Overall, I'm really happy that I started to appreciate the small things in life. I should have stopped to smell the roses a long time ago.
