about this story
1. As most of you know, beginning this program was an extremely difficult thing for me. I had to reteach myself how to handle social situations and convince myself that it was "okay" and this picture reminds me of working through those very difficult moments.
2. In 2009, my best friend and fiance was KIA in Kandahar, Afghanistan. This picture reminds me to continue to push forward and take advantage of every opportunity: he certainly did.
3. The VCU logo reminds me of how life changing this entire program has been for me. I'm very thankful I took the leap of faith.
4. This daisy reminds me that I need to (and want to) slow down to enjoy and appreciate the little things. Things that I don't feel like I notice right now because of the hustle and buslte of everything else.
5. This picture makes me look forward to May 2020 when I will have a minute to stand against a wall, enjoy the beautiful flowers, sounds, etc., and just breathe.
