about this story

The heat was brutal that summer.
Begging me to leave the school grounds into the shade of the golden trees. Even the nights made my skin blister, but today was the end.
Walking past the metal fence for the last time, I looked back. My head red and disoriented from the heat, I tripped and fell. A square manhole- the culprit, I wiped away the blood, took one more look at the endless maze of brick and left. Now my life begins.
