We have all heard the expression, "You can't judge a book by it's cover." I feel like I'm constantly being judged by my appearance. I have a long list of invisible yet disabling health issues. My friends and family see me as a girl on fire. I'm bold, ambitious, fearless and independent. No one knows how mentally and physically fragile I really am. Navigating my way through every day life takes the energy and pain tolerance one would need to climb a barbed wire fence. On the outside, I seem to be dancing through life. On the inside, I am barely hanging on.
