Some women feel that if a man gives them flowers to win their admiration, it is too cliche, because men have been giving women flowers since the Middle Ages. Further, many women do not like to receive flowers as a gift, because they often remind them of an inauthentic ex. However, cats frequently give humans dead rodents as gifts to show admiration. Of course, humans do not want the dead rodents, but they still appreciate their cats' offerings. Likewise, if a woman doesn't like flowers, she shouldn't let that prevent her from enjoying the spotlight of another's admiration if it is authentic. One reason is that some people have gone their whole lives without knowing what it means to be admired. For example, some were sent to foster homes at birth and lived without their parents' love. Thus, if women hate flowers and receive them as a gift, they should adopt the higher perspective and value the action of gift-giving instead of the gift, because it feels good to be admired.
