about this story

There are about 75% of adults that use some sort of vision repair whether it's glasses or contacts. While driving is attention-based and can be distracting, people driving without glasses could make the roads even more dangerous due to their impaired vision. If someone is prescribed glasses or contacts, it should be illegal to drive without them. With a blurry view, an unprepared driver could neglect certain objects that need to be seen to stay safe. For example, bikers in their designated lanes could be misinterpreted by the driver, so the driver would not be as alert as they should be. Another important thing unprepared drivers could miss is road signs. If a drivers vision is impaired, making out the images or words on a road sign could be tough.
