Rainbows are lovely, I love their soft hues,
It brings God's promise to me in clear views,
Books are paths that upward lead,
Books are friends: come let us read.

The American flag is the children's flag
For ours is a land where children are glad.
They go to public schools, and they learn,
In all the green yards they play, and they laugh.

They grow strong and tall as a coconut tree.
The flag and its colour tell them that they
Will be independent and perfectly free
When they grow up at a distant day.
