The evening breeze rustled Jamie Parker’s long blond curls, and he brushed them out of his face in a desperate attempt to see the nearing lake. He and his father had been hiking for five hours straight, but it was worth it. Jamie patted his lucky black fishing rod and breathed a sigh of relief as the lake finally came into complete view. The sparkling clear water moved ever so slightly and fish were leaping out of the water happily. Birds circled the area looking for an evening meal and feathers littered the rocky ground. Jamie’s father, Tom Parker started to set up camp, which happened to just be a small two person tent and a small clothesline. Jamie set his pack down and ripped his fishing pole from his bag.
“Dinner!” His father called and Jamie groaned. He’d have to wait until tomorrow.
