It was fall. The most beautiful time of year. The smell of the morning rain and the crunch of a dried dead orange leaf. It was cloudy and misty in the city. My girls and I were planning one last trip before school started. We were going to go up to the cabin and hang out. We got up there and it was chilly with a cold breeze like the kind that goes right through your clothes. The cabin had an outlook to a gorgeous lake. We had a fun trip. Now school had started and we went our separate ways. I was walking down the lonely street when it started to get really cold and dark. It was about to storm and I wasn't close to home.
