about this story
On my way home from school I would often pass by a cat adoption center. One day during winter time, I was having a rough afternoon as I had failed a science exam that I had studied for over a week. As I was passing by the center I saw some kittens playing together by the window. Something inside of me told me to go in, so I did. Immediately, I fell in love with a black cat. However, I was not old enough to adopt and needed my parents permission. Winter passed and by the beginning of Spring, I had my parents permission and we adopted my first cat. My tortoise was standoffish towards the cat in the beginning but eventually he came around. Now my apartment is a home to my family, Black (the cat), and Green (the tortoise).
