Plato was profoundly affected by both the life and the death of Socrates. Plato started a journey in discovering his philosophy after his masters death.
in the 380 BC he founded, "The Academy" an influential center of research and learning, that attracted many men of outstanding ability.
For 20 years Aristotle was also a member of the Academyas Plato's student. He started his own school, the Lyceum, only after Plato’s death, when he was passed over as Plato’s successor at the Academy.
