Hey love,
are you home?
please, let me see your pretty face...
where are you?
are you not home?
perhaps you are at the bar,
sharing joyous drinks with fellow revelers
to cap the end of a good week
or toast to me, your newest crush.
Or maybe you've decided to wander alone,
by the stream where we kissed after our first date.
I would've happily walked with you.
Why didn't you invite me?
Or by chance you took to the road
that goes past your grandma's house
riding solo, deep in thought about me
I hope.
But wait: I know where you are...
Your favorite place, to where I now rush
full of excited breath
and heady anticipation.
My heart leaps when I see you
in pure ecstasy, frolicking with the birds
on the pier
the view of town in the distance.
My love,
I am so happy to see you
and at peace to be in love with you.
