It seemed that nobody really wanted to take a college class on 19th century architectural embellishments anymore. So Jeremy ended his final lecture with one of his favorite slides. The meticulously carved man's expression matched the vacant-eyed stare of his art history students. Jeremy thought back to his childhood - when his dreams stretched out before him like the long, suburban block he used to peddle his tricycle down on summer afternoons. Now he would retire and return home to the company of his tabby cat, Max and his wife, a mural painter. And they would be happy together in apartment #15.
