Five Card Story: A Trip to the Big Apple

One sunny afternoon while eating lunch at the park, Mark received a text from his old girlfriend on his cellphone, Maria, asking him to meet her for a cocktail later that evening. The bar that they met at was a little strange. On their table in the bar was a bowl of simple looking beans; however, after eating one of the beans, Maria suddenly started to grow. She grew so fast that she had to hang her legs out the bar's window. Mark called the bartender over and explained what happened. The bartender said not to worry, and he pulled an apple from his pocket. He told Maria to take a bite. After biting the apple, Maria returned to her normal size. The bartender told them if you do not want to grow don't eat the beans while pointing to a poster on the wall. Mark and Maria had a good laugh and headed to the subway to buy some apples at the supermarket just in case Maria started to grow again.
