Five Card Story: I'll Only Slow Down For You

about this story
Winter fingers wrapping wool
around my arms makes me wonder:
if I were to become lost, just
another tile on the floor, trodden
by countless feet on endless days,
would you still search to find me
through the slanted door
if I were to promise to slow down
and wait for you?
(a riff off Wendy's poem)
