about this story
She remains at her desk, dawn through dusk,
Keeping a curious face,
When all she wants to do is fly
To a drastically different place.
A rocky cliff looming over a creek,
She finds beauty in it somehow,
Perhaps on a mountain, or simply in a wood,
With the cool water rushing and loud.
Then she would find herself on a sunny sidewalk,
The sun beaming down upon her soul,
Inching closer and closer to the tattoo parlor,
Where she would make herself feel whole.
Alas, after yet another mind-numbing day,
Clicking continuously on the keys
She is alone in the parking garage,
Staring out her car window, wondering what she still sees.
