It was a good life before The Putrefaction… I was a normal 17 year old boy living in Houston, Texas. I was in my senior year of high school and I was just about to graduate. Then this weird sickness started going around the state of Texas. My school had about 3 cases in the first week and it was devastating. Kids were starting to go to the hospital for their bones rotting from the inside. My best friend passed away from this horrible disease. 2 months later the immune system was put in these camps stationed around the country and luckily I was one of them.
A bus drove me from my home town and brought me to Dallas to put me in a camp. The camps were really dark and depressing because everyone was getting over their lost loved ones Moms, Dads, and siblings. I hated this place. I had an idea to escape this hell hole. My idea was to sneak past one of the guards and get through the broken chain in the fence. Later that day I almost got caught but I ran and they let me go. I was then stranded on the side of the Johnson Freeway.
A couple days later there was a horrible thunderstorm that came in. High winds and crazy amounts of rain. While I was walking I noticed this gray ram truck coming by me and he stopped in front of me and asked if I needed help and I was a little hesitant but I needed to get out of this storm so I got in the truck and we started driving to their town. When I got in the truck he asked “do you have your immunization wristband “ and I didnt have it on my wrist because the guards tried to take it but I then remembered that I alway kept it in one of my bags. I searched through my bag and found it! I showed it to the men and they accepted it and took me to a town called Duncanville Texas.
