Caydence and Ellie were two sisters who lived in a small, poor, broken town in California. Caydence pretty much raised Ellie. The mom works from 5 am to 3 am every day and the dad is out of the picture. We don't do much here besides go to school and do chores around the house. Occasionally we will try to fit some time to walk down to the beach which is the one good thing about living where we live.
Saturday, September 9th 1993: School is over and me and Ellie walk back home. It's a 25 minute walk from school to our house and is insanely hot. When we finally got home I cleaned the kitchen in a hurry so me and Ellie could make it to the beach before sunset. It started to become a little stormy but that didn't stop us. We turn around to grab a hoodie as we feel a breeze and a raindrop. We start walking towards the beach and once we get there we sit on the sand letting the shore hit our feet. The wind and rain starts to get progressively stronger by the minute. Me and Ellie decide to take a swim before it gets too bad. Me and Ellie swim pretty far out once the wind and rain gets strong while the lighting strikes and looks like it could almost hit us.Me and Ellie start to swim back as we start to struggle to swim as the waves get bigger. It becomes nearly impossible to swim as the waves become so strong and the rain is hitting us so hard. We see a boat in the distance and try so hard to get their attention. We wave our hands and scream as loud as we can, struggling to still tread water. After a while the boat finally makes a signal that we have gotten their attention. The boat comes our way and a very nice man reaches his hand off the boat helping us in. He hands us warm blankets and we shiver while explaining what happened. We tell the driver where we live and we start to panic as we notice the boat is driving the opposite direction. We ask why we are going towards the other side of the ocean and they don't respond. The boat starts to speed up as we are yelling to turn as the driver gets out of his seat to grab his drink Ellie rushes to the seat to attempt to turn the boat around. The driver rushes back and grabs both me and Ellie and locks us in a room downstairs of the houseboat. A woman who we had never seen before unlocks the door and gives us water acting like she was going to find us a way out. The woman looked so friendly it was hard not to believe her. We drink the water in less than a second and start to feel dizzy. Me and Ellie both pass out into a deep state of sleep. Hours pass and I wake up to Ellie slapping me till I awaken. We bang on the door insisting for them to let us out. We found a blanket hanging on the wall in the room we were trapped in and tore it down and noticed there was a window covered by the blanket. We are confused when we realize the boat is parked by a doc. We both look at eachother and immediately know we are thinking the same thing. We start to search the room trying to find something we could possibly break the window with. After several minutes I found an old rusted hammer. I break the window and hear a man yell stop. We rushed out the window and ran as fast as we could. After almost an hour of running we see a hotel and we rush inside of the hotel and beg for their help. The lady at the front desk said she would call for help and get us a room in the meantime and she walked away from the front desk to get us a room. The man from the boat rushed into the hotel lobby and grabbed us effortlessly and tied us down in his car. We drive for hours while trying to find a way out and he parks in a sandy hot desert. We have no idea where we are and no idea what will happen.
