about this story

The Discourse on Method has just been released by Rene Descartes, known to all as the father of modern western philosophy, however hiding behind the windows of his home, the title of calling him father is exclusive only to his daughter Francine, a secret child from his intimate maidservant, Helena.
Officially on record books, Francine is Descartes’s niece, Ashamed may be that he has a child from wedlock and woman of lowly status what no one can take away is the love for his daughter dear, doting as any father ever can be that he even made a doll named after her.
Descartes was all but ready to educate and travel together with his daughter when tragedy strike, a fever sickness just like the color of the red scarlet plant took the life of dear Francine, losing a child greyed out his once his lively home but it spurred Descartes to build an animatronic effigy in her likeness, and a turning point for him to find a quest for universal answers.
