Patricia Churchland's philosophy in neuroscience was influenced by the rapid pace in the discoveries in science towards mental processes and by the realization of the scientists at Cal-tech in which they studied how separating the brain at the cortex could in theory show how mental capacity and consciousness is more likely physically connected to the brain instead of being a mental state.
