about this story

1 -
Human connection is a necessity. While feeling lonely is normal, it can be scary and even destructive for some. It hurts and it feels like you are somewhat disconnected and misunderstood by the world around you.

2 -
Social interaction is more important than people realize. Science proves that anxiety and depression can be lowered and help regulate emotions and lead to higher self-esteem and empathy for one another. Strangely enough, it also improves our immune system. As a human, we are dependent on each other to live better lives.

3 -
Besides, there's a hidden beauty in connecting to others. The memories you make and the assurance that you have someone that is maybe a phone call or text away. It's rewarding in a way.

4 -
However, these days it is so easy for people to disappoint you. It only takes one special person or situation to leave you broken. You could pick up the pieces and try to move on, put your energy and trust in others but that would risk getting hurt again. It can be so easy by yourself. You do not have to rely on anyone to make you happy or feel loved, you can learn to do that on your own. There are fewer struggles and heartaches but more relaxation and self-discovery. The world is not black and white in that sense, but yours can. You can either find possible contentment with yourself or risk getting disappointed by others.

5 -
Then again, it's possible that for most of us, the fear of being alone is greater than the fear of being hurt. While there is no need to force relationships or the need to be surrounded by people consistently, it is great to have a community of people or people that you at least trust to have your back and to be there for you when needed. The right people in your circle are the ones that can help you be strong at the end of the day. People need people to grow together and to be better.
