about this story

This has been a challenging week for all educators. I remember the tragedy of Columbine early in my teaching career, and now that fear reverberates all too often. These images remind me to find joy even when facing the challenges of educational leadership. The raspberry dessert reminds me of a torte I make for my husband; the mustang reminds me of the car my husband wants to buy; the images of plants with a sunny background evoke the warmth of summer while the picture of the beach is serene. All of these images resonate with me as a way to focus on gratitude for the support I have in my life. I would not be able to be an effective professional if I didn't have my support system.
