about this story
We go through transitions in life. It's what we call the life cycle. As young sprouts we are expected to grow as strong as an oak to be able to ride the rocky waves and currents of life. Some of us have a privileged way of living where we are protected from external factors that may influence and diminish our chances to become a mature oak. And some of us are exposed to those external factors to develop resilience to keep thriving in order to become that strong oak that we are meant to be. But all that depends on your location. That's something I have learned as an immigrant. The type of environment where are you located at impacts the life span of a being and the type of nourishment provided is impacted by the availability of resources in your environment. Let's strive to build a more equitable ecosystem where a young sprout can become a majestic oak regardless of their location.
