As Emily left for her daily hike, she couldn't ignore the strange feeling that someone, or something, was watching her. Nonetheless, she continued on her way. When she walked past the fish pond, the hairs on the back of her neck stood up, a warning that something wasn't quite right. It was quiet, too quiet, and Emily couldn't shake the feeling that eyes were still on her. Even the fish seemed to be staring right at her. Then, she heard a rustling coming from the woods. "Who's there?!" she called out. No answer. She turned quickly as she heard another noise to her left. She rolled her eyes. It was just a man and his adorable dog out for a stroll. Emily decided she had had enough. She walked back home, purposely choosing to walk on the busy street rather than continue on the wooded path. When she got home, she immediately went to her reading chair, picked up the book she bought yesterday, a thrilling murder mystery, and decided to put it back on the shelf for another day. She snickered to herself as she settled in for the evening, rolling her eyes about how she had let the book get to her. She happily sat down to watch a rom-com, blissfully unaware of the pair of eyes watching her from the window.
