about this story

"Where am I?" I thought as I looked at the abandoned building around me. I was in a courtyard of sorts, but I couldn't remember how I got here. The last thing I remember is arriving to the party with my cousin last night, but where was he? I stumbled onto my feet and tried to see if anything looked familiar. "Alto" read the stop sign. How did I arrive in Mexico? I'm assuming it's Mexico, it could really be anywhere. I decided to take a walk to see if I could spot any recognizable landmarks. Everything felt blurry and dizzy. "Maybe I was drugged?" I thought again, but I don't understand how. I never had anything to drink, and where was my cousin? I walked until I saw a familiar house. It was blue and white on top of a slight hill. It looked eerily similar to my grandmother's house, but she lived in Texas, not Mexico. I knocked on the door because I had nowhere else to go. No one answered. I turned the knob and it was unlocked. I said "hello" as I entered, but there was no response. I could see the back patio from the front door and there were three men sitting out there. I thought, "what else do I have to lose?" I walked to the back of the house and the men seemed to be hosting a business meeting. Neither man turned or acknowledged my presence, but rather continued their conversation in Spanish. I tried to say hello, but I had no voice. I tried to walk closer to the men, but I couldn't cross the threshold. I was stuck. I wanted to leave, I wanted to go home. I turned around and immediately fell to the ground. The next morning, I woke up and I was in a dark room with a singular window to the outside. There was no door, there was no bed or chair. There was floor and a window. I had a feeling I wouldn't be escaping this time.
