As I walk down the streets I've ran down a million times, something tells me to look closer, to see deeper, to feel more. I lift my head from my phone and I notice the stores with their signs and blue hearts printed on their windows. I see fresh cheese and bread being served, their aromas inviting. I notice flowers and leaves scattered across the ground, and kites that have found their last landing spot. In that moment, I realize life is too short to always be on the move. I pause, inhale deeply, and savor the simple pleasures around me, reminding myself to stop and smell the cheese.
