She had never understood, or rather related to those who hated school. The ones who would hold the ends of their sleeves into their palms, or chew on their hoodie strings as everyone else on the school yard, or in the cafeteria obnoxiously laugh at rather tasteless jokes about annoying teachers simply doing their job or less fortunate kids.
Realistically, Reign wasn't one of these "outlanders" because she had took the phrase "get in where you fit in" into consideration upon who she allowed to be her friend, and somehow became friends with the obnoxious, the inconsiderate, the spoiled, and those who were all of the above. However Reign had been closer to the alienated than the people she sat with everyday sulking in their lack of reality, daddy's money, and her having to tell them to be quiet because whatever they said wasn't nice. And it was mostly boys.
Reign had a fascination with Harry Potter, and Hogwarts. She loved large and/ or animalistic statues that looked like they had belonged on the school grounds. In some absurd state of mind that had allowed her to maintain the slightest bit of childish imagination, she told herself that her bags would be packed and ready within 20 minutes of her receiving an invitational letter from Hogwarts.
In the mean time, she'd fulfill her still absurd but slightly more realistic dreams of dumpster diving behind an Ulta Beauty, Dick's Sporting Goods, or Apple Store like she saw on tik tok in 2021.
Reign had to maintain her personal lust for life after being around people who loved a fake version of the world and people he hated the world. She never experienced a happy medium outside of her own thoughts. She'd go shopping in stores with products that were averagely $400-$700 and all she could afford without being broke for the next 2 weeks was a pair of earrings, or a hair clip. In the last bits of time that she had, to pull together the scraps of sanity that she had, she'd pick or buy flowers that she thought were pretty and once they died she'd keep the decaying petals in a shoebox with old poloroids and other things that were Reign's definition of life.
