On Halloween night, a group of intrepid children sneaked into the cemetery. there they found an old man sleeping beside a tombstone nesting a brown cat. When he awoke, he smiled and whispered "The spirits love to have company". He continued talking and patting the cats head "Are yo the newest sprits company? Not many visit the spirits these days".
The friends felt a chill, but the man’s warmth kept them there. “Next time you come,” he said, “bring flowers. They brighten even the darkest nights here, and the spirits will remember you kindly.”
Every halloween, after trick or treat the kids returned with flowers, placing them on the oldest graves. And every time, just as they were leaving, they’d catch a glimpse of the old man and his cat watching from the mist
