Description: The images all have a small, neighborhood feeling. It reminds me of that lonely, quiet time after school when you're looking for your friends and end up playing in the woods with imaginary friends and humming to yourself.
Story: Sam is walking home in the quiet. It's the verge of spring. She fills her pockets with rocks, and the streets are emptier than normal. She is met with an empty house and decides to get a jacket and wander around the forest behind her house. She packs her messenger bag with snacks and her little computer and sets up a fort made of mud and twigs. She feels tiny and imagines she's lost in the woods, gathering sticks for a fire and playing music on her little laptop. She writes her own lyrics and fills her hair with leaves. A few hours later, she gets hungry and sneaks back into the pantry for more supplies. She leaves pieces of trail mix on the walk back and checks it every few minutes for new bug friends. The sun starts to set, so she scoops up her caterpillars, worms, and rolly-pollys and presents them in a jar at dinner.
