about this story

Once in a quiet village tucked between the hills, lived a little girl named Lila. She had sparkling eyes and always wore a big pink bow in her hair, a gift from her grandmother. Lila loved to explore the outdoors, especially her favorite spot — an old wooden bench at the edge of the forest. It was where she read stories, dreamed up adventures, and sometimes, simply sat and listened to the birds.
One autumn afternoon, Lila sat on the bench, clutching her favorite storybook. Her imagination whisked her away to places far beyond the trees — kingdoms with dragons, fields that sang, and skies that changed colors with a wish.
But then winter came. And with it, everything froze — the leaves, the ground, even the old bench. Icicles hung like teeth from the seat, and no one visited the forest path anymore. The bench sat cold and alone, forgotten under layers of frost.
Weeks passed. Snow fell silently. Lila watched from the window, worried her special place would never be the same again.
One day, the sun finally broke through. Lila bundled up, braving the chill, and made her way through the thawing woods. There it was — her bench, still standing strong, icicles melting slowly like tears from a long sleep. She brushed off the snow, sat down carefully, and opened her book once more.
Spring was still far away, but Lila had returned. And with her came warmth, laughter, and the promise that stories — like old benches — are never truly forgotten.
