about this story

It started at the steps of an old school building, a place that once felt like the center of my world. Everything there was familiar: the brick walls, the echo of footsteps in the hallway, the comfort of routine that never changed.

One autumn afternoon, I walked home, lost in thought, when I noticed a blanket of fallen leaves scattered along the path. They were crisp and dry, tinged with shades of amber and red. In that quiet moment, I realized they weren't just a sign of the season, they were a gentle reminder that change is a natural part of life.

That evening, the sky was painted in brilliant hues of orange and violet as the sun dipped below the horizon. It was the kind of sunset that demands your attention and silences your thoughts. Watching it, I felt something shift inside me. Endings, I realized, could hold their own kind of beauty.

The next morning, I wandered past an empty street. A broken bicycle leaned silently against a tree, its tires flat, its chain rusted. The whole scene felt like a memory left behind – still, forgotten, and quietly waiting to be let go.

And so I did.

Now I find myself walking unfamiliar roads, surrounded by noise, color, and life. Street vendors call out, motorbikes weave through narrow lanes, and laughter spills from tiny cafés. It’s all so different from what I knew, yet it feels right. In this new place, with all its chaos and charm, I’ve discovered something I never expected: a sense of freedom, and a deeper understanding of who I am.
