about this story

My story is one of summers gone by...
There’s something magical about the anticipation of summer—the warmth, the light, and the joy of children laughing and playing in the water. That image alone refreshes my soul.

I’ve always loved trees—their quiet strength, their symbolism of growth and endurance. As a child, our family camped every summer, and those memories of nights under trees and around the campfire are etched in my heart forever. These days, I've traded tents for comfort, and The Ellington is exactly where the grown-up version of me prefers to “glamp” in style. (LOL!)

As I stroll further down memory lane, the stained glass of the church window brings me back to summer mornings at Vacation Bible School—the spark of my faith journey began there.

And then there’s the scene of people relaxing on a bench, carefree and content. It instantly takes me back to a summer trip to Mexico a few years ago, where time seemed to slow and all that mattered was peace and presence.

Here’s to summers past—beautiful, nostalgic, and forever a part of me.
