I remember heading over to my grandma's place during the winter holidays. It got so cold out there, but honestly, that just made everything feel more exciting in a way. We spent a lot of time outside, me and my relatives running around in the snow and just laughing the whole time.
The cat she had was this ginger one, sitting right by the window like it was watching over us or something. It reminds me of the picture, yeah. During the days, we'd go sledding on that hill nearby, sliding down fast and then climbing back up, over and over.
Evenings were when we'd all come inside, pretty tired from all that, but still feeling good about it. Nights quieted down a lot, and from the house you could spot those city lights way off in the distance. They glowed in the dark, making the whole winter thing seem special, I think. Not sure if it's just me, but that part always stuck out.
