about this story
The race was about to start, it was his first one. It would start in the suburbs, go onto the highway, then move to the city streets. This would be a big step in overcoming his fear of being hit by a car while cycling. Seeing the accident attorney sign on the highway was an ironic moment that made him crack a small smile. He knew that he just needed to get through this race, then he could go back home to LA and see his family. The race was hard, he wanted to quit several times. At one point he past a closed dry cleaner store. It reminded him of the dry cleaner shop his grandfather had owned. His grandfather had loved biking to work, was was determined to buy one for his first grandson as soon as he could walk. It was there was his love of cycling began, if only the fear had not gotten in the way for so many years.
