It was already midmorning. For some reason the neighbor's rooster did not start crowing until now: I would be late for work again. Darn rooster!

I was in a bad mood--a gray mood. I hurried past the gray church: it seemed to be judging me for sleeping in. I deserved it.

I got to work. Bleh. But suddenly I saw something new--it was a child's stuffie. A blue bunny creature with a pink tail. It was sitting abandoned on a table in the lobby. I don't know why, but I picked up the blue creature and hugged it into my jacket--and something shifted in me.

I was late for work anyway: so I decided to ditch the office for the day. I went for a long walk--I walked and walked until I was out of the city. I ended up in a strange place--a cemetery?--I have ned never seen before. It seemed to be lined with stone obelisks.

I found a quiet bench to sit on--and I sat there quietly with my newfound blue puppy stuffie until night fell. And then I stayed longer.
