He peered over the canyon's edge. No way down! He looked across the lake. No bridge! Slowly he padded down the road, past the barren trees. Pail in hand, he walked the length of the boardwalk,purposefully. He recognized his surroundings. It wouldn't be long now. As he walked up the sidewalk, Smokey raised his head to greet him. "Where have you been," his eyes asked. "I've been waiting for you!"
