I love classic country music.. don't you? Classic country songs are basic. Picture Johnny Cash in a plain black suit, his gravelly baritone accompanied by just two alternating chords. These songs are honest and reliable. They are a rotary phone in a digital age. They are simple and unassuming, yet as fresh as just-picked strawberries. Like your grandmas home cooked meals, they take you back to good memories from the past. These new, fancy country songs try to wow you and act like pop music. They are the vegas lights that rose out of the plain southwestern landscape that was classic country. Classic country is as vintage America as it can get... a worn and weathered old barn door.. no bright lights or shiny paint required.
